Creatives on corporate boards?

The world’s leading corporations have all hired AI engineers to build new systems. Yet, they’ve failed to bring on creative experts who can help them foresee the potential AI risks to their market leadership.

Corporations should immediately diversify their advisory boards—not just with experts from a pre-AI past, but with creative minds who can imagine their potential AI-driven future.

Any Fortune 500 company that doesn’t hire a couple of science fiction writers or creative futurists, tasked with presenting wild AI success and AI doom scenarios at each board meeting, is a company destined to be replaced by young startups weaponizing AI.

Just as tech companies hire internal “Red Teams” of star engineers to test how their own systems could be hacked, traditional corporations should hire Red Teams of top creatives to imagine all the ways their "old" business could be disrupted—and implement countermeasures.

I’m not pitching CEOs to hire me for multimillion-dollar retainers as their creative AI future advisor... But as the Italian mafia thugs say in movies: “You’ve got a nice little business here... it’d be a shame if something happened to it!”

I would consider hiring some creatives... just as insurance... Do you capisce?
