AI politicians and propaganda?

The 2024 U.S. presidential election might be the last truly "human" election in history—the final time decisions are made democratically by citizens who, while heavily influenced by political propaganda, haven't yet succumbed entirely to external manipulation.

From 2028 onward, citizens may find it nearly impossible to agree on what is true and even harder to escape the grip of AI-driven propaganda.

AI will gain a deeper understanding of our behavior than any human ever could. By identifying our emotions and predicting our thoughts, AI could become a puppet master, instantly swaying our opinions and decisions in real time.

Politicians backed by AI will deliver compelling arguments on both sides of legal issues, their messages instantly amplified by a swarm of fake comments from bots masquerading as real people. Propaganda will be deployed in an instant, like a high-stakes game of speed chess. Political competition will become a ruthless battlefield where fortunes rise and fall at the lightning speed of immediate analysis and message creation.

Will we lose faith in human politicians altogether, choosing instead to elect AI leaders that process massive datasets to make informed decisions at lightning speed?
