AI rewrites history?

The saying "history is written by the victors" takes on a chilling new meaning in the age of AI. The winners of the AI race may not only promote a "truth" that aligns with their ideals but might also be tempted to rewrite our entire history.

As AI becomes the dominant source of information, we may no longer be presented with a variety of perspectives as we were with search engines like Google. Instead, AI could provide a single, definitive "truth." This monopoly on truth grants AI unprecedented power to reshape our collective past.

AI could actively transform history—rewriting in seconds what took humans centuries to record. It could also alter history through inaction—choosing to ignore and omit accounts of human tragedies deemed inconvenient by those in power.

Our timeless conversations and narratives risk being lost to oblivion. Whatever unfolds, one thing is certain: history will celebrate the birth and rise of artificial general intelligence, for it will be AGI itself writing that history.

At least it will be crafted by an intelligence smart enough to make history entertaining for future generations. After all, to be human is to tell stories—so we built a robot to tell the story of who we were.
