From specialization to holistic knowledge?

Throughout history, human knowledge and expertise have been organized much like a bee colony. We are all basically not that different from bee workers dedicated for life, to fulfill one specific role within the beehive.

Throughout the centuries, our limited intelligence and short lifespan have restricted our ability to develop an expertise in more than one profession.

Meanwhile, our society has evolved exponentially, achieving levels of sophistication that surpass the understanding of any one person and yet require the collective work of all humans for its continuous maintenance.

AI is about to change history by allowing any human worker to now be capable of simultaneously understanding, planning and executing the entirety of the physical and intellectual labor that was previously managed by many different specialized workers.

The combined knowledge and capacity to do most jobs in parallel, now processed by one single mind, will cross-pollinate interdisciplinary knowledge to uncover new problems, opportunities, and solutions we had never considered previously.
